BTE hearing aids are not as prone to wax buildup as in-the-ear ones, but are still exposed to dirt and moisture. To keep them functioning optimally, it’s important to clean them on a daily basis.

Make sure to wipe the outer casing with specialised wipes to remove dirt and oils. Clean the earmold or dome separately using cleaning tablets and a cleaning cup. Make sure it’s completely dry before reattaching. Use a cleaning tool to remove debris from the tube or earmold opening.

Regularly inspect and replace tubing, wax guards, as well as earmolds/domes as needed. When not in use, store your hearing aids in a clean, dry case, and consider using a drying box or dehumidifier to prevent moisture buildup.
