Description

This adapter is the perfect tool for workplaces. It allows you to swap out the curly corded handset phone for a headset to leave your hands free to type and write, whilst streaming the audio from the call directly to your hearing aids. This conversion pack works by connecting your Phonak Roger device, Oticon Streamer Pro, Oticon EduMic, Phonak ComPilot II or GN ReSound Multi Mic to the base of your landline phone, which means you can talk into the headset microphone, so the person on the other end of the phone can hear you clearly, but their voice then gets streamed directly to your hearing aids. This solution works perfectly within the workplace – even in a noisy office, you will be able to hear the person on the other end of the phone crystal clear.

The optimal way to use this if your have binaural hearing loss (a hearing aid in each ear), would be to wear the headset around your neck so that the headset speaker doesn’t get in the way of your hearing aid, and angle the microphone towards your mouth. If you have monaural hearing loss (a hearing aid in one ear), you can place the headset over your head, and place the headset speaker over the ear without the hearing aid and place the microphone to your mouth.

How To Set This Up

  1. Unplug the curly cord of the handset from the handset base, and safely put the handset away as this pack removes the need of the handset.
  2. Take the short lead from the adapter and plug this directly into the handset socket (the socket from step 1 that you removed the curly cord from).
  3. Now take the end of the headset cord (with the QuickDisconnect connection), and plug it into the QuickDisconnect to RJ11 adapter.
  4. Take the RJ11 connection and plug this directly into back of the ReTell adapter (there is only one socket that it can be plugged into). Please note, this adapter is ONLY compatible with phone cords that use an RJ11 connection. This is a very common connection for landline phones, but please check before purchase to ensure full compatibility.
  5. You should have one remaining cable coming from the adapter, which is the 3.5mm auxiliary jack. Firstly, you will have received a ‘Mono to Stereo’ adapter. Plug that onto the end of the 3.5mm cable coming out of the phone adapter. Take the 3.5mm cable and plug this directly into the docking station of your Phonak Roger product, or into the 3.5mm port on your alternative device. Ensure that if you are using a Phonak Roger product, that the dock in plugged into the wall as power is required to the dock for this to work.

How To Use The Product

  1. Ensure that your Phonak Roger/alternative device product is already paired with your hearing aids. This is an essential first step, otherwise the adapter will not work.
  2. Switch your Phonak Roger device on, and slot this into the dock. If you are using an alternative device, just switch the product on.
  3. The third and final step is simply to test the phone! Have somebody (a family member, friend, co-worker) ring the phone and ensure that the phone audio is being streamed to the hearing aid and that they can hear your voice clearly. And now, you’re all set to seamlessly receive and make phone calls with crystal clear sound with your new headset.
