Description
Your ear canal will naturally produce ear wax which, if not removed, can be detrimental to your hearing aids. If too much ear wax accumulates around or gets inside your hearing aid, the sound quality will reduce, or it will stop working altogether. In fact – ear wax is the MAIN cause for hearing aid damage!
Wax guards are an essential part of hearing aid maintenance so most hearing aids will come with guards or substitute items to prevent ear wax from clogging up your aids. Enjoy the safe and simple 2-step process to insert and remove your Starkey wax guards!
How to use:
Wax guards need changing regularly, so we recommend changing them every 3-4 weeks.
Although every hearing aid user will vary when it comes to changing their wax guard, we recommend changing it when the sound quality from the hearing aid/ receiver starts to drop. Sometimes you can visibly see the build-up around the wax filter indicating that it is time to change it.
Before changing your wax filters, make sure that you have washed and dried your hands thoroughly. Clean the entire area around the filter to remove all ear wax from the receiver before inserting the new filter.
Each wax guard stick has 2 tips. The empty tip is used to remove your used wax guard from your receiver. Press into the wax guard with the empty stick end firmly. When lifted, the used wax guard should release.
Check inside and around the receiver for any excess ear wax and clean it off before inserting your new wax guard.
The white tip is for your new wax guard. As soon as the used wax guard is removed, insert the white tip into the receiver to secure your new wax guard in place. When the tip is taken out, the wax guard should still be comfortably housed.
